Current Work

After spending time in public accounting at Henry & Peters, P.C. I left to become CFO of Herd Family Office in Tyler, Texas. My why in my professional life is helping people maximize their personal financial lives. In pursuit of this passion I also am priveledged to help individuals and families tackle the complexities of their finances through simplification and automation in pursuit of their goals.

Prior Education

I spent 3 years at Auburn University (War Eagle!) earning my undergraduate degree in Accounting. I then went to The University of Texas at Austin for my Masters in Public Accountancy. After growing up in Dallas and an internship with KPMG I felt called to something different and started my career in Tyler, Texas. Tyler has been a wonderful blessing to me and my family.

My Why

The Problem

Today’s financial environment is strangled by complexity. As I am writing this, the tax code and various regulations total well over 70,000 pages, there are over 6,100 publicly traded stocks, over 5,000 different ETFs, over 9,500 mutual funds, over 16 different types of mortgages, over 20 different types of retirement plans, over 10 different types of life insurance, I could go on and on.

My Why

Have you ever been white water rafting? Picture it, eight people in a raft all with the same goal, having fun and arriving safely. There are rocks under the surface all down the river. The untrained eye cannot see the rocks under the surface let alone avoid them. No matter how hard the eight people paddle they need a raft guide with them in their boat who has been down this very river hundreds of times to navigate the seen and unseen obstacles on the journey ahead.

My why is to be a rafting guide through the intricate rapids of today’s financial system.
